Gov. Gianforte discusses CTE programs in Montana

Gov. Greg Gianforte held a roundtable discussion Wednesday at East Helena High School to discuss career technical education in the state.

The roundtable was held during CTE month, which according to Gianforte is a great way for students to be exposed to the workforce.

According to the group there are 77,000 students enrolled in career technical education (CTE) programs in Montana. The roundtable discussed where it saw CTE courses going in the next three to five years based on research that has been done since the courses were offered.

East Helena High School principal Brian Kessler said he thinks his students enjoy the opportunity to take courses that involve work experience.

He said the culinary course usually fills up fast.

“We’re helping students succeed,” Gianforte said.
