‘Year of the horse’: Rodeo tickets go on sale Monday for Last Chance Stampede and Fair

Rodeo tickets go on sale 10 a.m. Monday for the Last Chance Stampede and Fair in Helena, which is July 25-27 with showtimes 7 p.m. nightly at the Lewis and Clark County Fairgrounds.

This year’s event could be considered “the year of the horse,” said Mike Gurnett, Stampede rodeo chairman, as two of the best horse entertainers in pro rodeo will entertain at the fairgrounds.

Bareback rider Cole Franks goes for a 91.5 ride in 2023 during the Last Chance Stampede and Fair at the Lewis and Clark County Fairgrounds.

Trainer Bobby Kerr, “The “Mustang Man,” will bring his herd of mustangs who have been trained for liberty work to take commands by voice and physical cue, with no saddle or bridle. Kerr’s mustangs jump over a 1936 Chevrolet car in the arena, and get in the front seat with him as he drives.
