South Dakota State Fair Foundation Launches Fundraising Campaign
The South Dakota State Fair Foundation has launched the “Every Stall Counts” fundraising campaign to purchase 350 new portable horse stalls for the state fairgrounds, with a fundraising goal of $500,000.
The project builds on the success of the DEX by improving the aging Hippodrome stalls and increasing portable stall capacity for larger national events. Organizers say the new stalls will enhance safety, usability and flexibility for animals, contestants and events. A sample stall will be set up at the South Dakota State Fair near the North Arena.
The campaign is receiving a boost through a matching challenge from the William Mibra & Byrne Griffith Foundation, which will match every dollar donated to the campaign up to $100,000, doubling the impact of contributions made toward the project.
“As a contestant, the quality of the facilities definitely plays a part in deciding which rodeos I want to attend,” said Jazz McGirr, a rodeo competitor and DEX event host. “This campaign is a great opportunity for the South Dakota State Fairgrounds to continue becoming a place where contestants and their families from across the state and region want to come.”
A variety of donor levels and recognition opportunities are available through the campaign, allowing individuals, families, businesses and organizations to participate. Donors may also choose to spread pledge payments over two years, offering flexibility for those who wish to contribute over time. All donations are tax-deductible.
