City of Helena to consider increasing fees for golf course, swimming pool

March 11 public hearings have been set by the Helena City Commission to discuss proposed fee increases at Bill Roberts Municipal Golf Course and Last Chance Splash Waterpark and Pool.

The hearing will be 6 p.m. in the Helena City Commission chambers, 316 N. Park Ave.

Parks, Recreation and Open Lands Director Doug Smith described the increases as small at the Feb. 21 city commission administrative meeting, and said the new pool fees would bring Helena in line or a little bit below other water parks in the state of Montana or the region.

He also said the fee increases would close the gap of the city’s General Fund contribution.

Among the changes being considered, the city has proposed increasing the season passholder fee for an adult at the golf course from $950 to $1,000, or a 5.2% increase in 2024-2025.
