Sexual assault charge filed against former Community Medical Center physician
A former physician at Missoula’s Community Medical Center emergency department is facing allegations that he sexually assaulted a patient in his care, court filings show.
Tyler J. Hurst is facing one misdemeanor count of sexual assault, according to Missoula County Justice Court documents. The charge was filed on April 19. Hurst hasn’t entered a plea to the misdemeanor offense. His initial appearance is scheduled for May 14.
Hurst was privately contracted with Community and is no longer working at the hospital, according to Missoula Deputy County Attorney Brielle Lande.
On April 22, 2023, a woman reported to the board of medical examiners that a physician she saw, identified as Hurst, touched her inappropriately during a medical examination at Community’s emergency department the day prior, on April 21, court documents allege.
