Sen. Thune re-elected as Republican Whip

U.S. Sen. John Thune, (R-South Dakota), has been re-elected to Senate Republican Whip, the second highest position in Senate Republican leadership, according to a press release from the senator’s office Tuesday.
He was re-elected unanimously and his term as whip will begin in January for the 117th Congress. Thune was first elected as Republican whip for 116th Congress in 2019.
