President Trump Signs H.J. Res 133 and H.R. 1512 into Law

Two congressional bills, H.J. Res 133 and H.R. 1512, have been signed into law, advancing measures related to national heritage displays and U.S.-Taiwan relations.

H.J. Res 133 authorizes the Secretary of the Interior to approve unique, one-time arrangements for displays on the National Mall and the Washington Monument during the period from December 31, 2025, through January 5, 2026. The resolution enables special public exhibits and commemorations in the nation’s capital, ensuring a coordinated and safe presentation on these iconic landmarks.

H.R. 1512, also known as the “Taiwan Assurance Implementation Act,” permanently extends requirements for the Department of State to review and report on guidance provided to Executive Branch agencies regarding relations with Taiwan. The legislation aims to reinforce long-term U.S. policy transparency and accountability in its diplomatic interactions with Taiwan.

Both measures reflect Congress’ continued efforts to balance domestic ceremonial priorities with ongoing foreign policy oversight.
