New Allegations Against Windy Boy Surface After Campaign Exit

New allegations of sexual misconduct have emerged against Montana state Sen. Jonathan Windy Boy days after he suspended his campaign for Montana’s eastern congressional district.

The latest claims come from a former legislative staffer who said Windy Boy showed her explicit nude photos of himself while she was working during the 2017 legislative session. The woman said the incident occurred in her office at the state Capitol after a casual conversation turned to his physical appearance. Another former legislative employee said the staffer described the incident shortly after it happened.

The new accusations follow earlier allegations from a Pennsylvania woman who said Windy Boy used online chat rooms in the early 2000s to expose himself to her teenage daughter and niece, both 15 at the time. She said he engaged the girls in sexually explicit conversations and propositioned them for sex.

Windy Boy suspended his congressional campaign on April 16, publicly citing health reasons. He did not respond to requests for comment regarding the new allegations. Previously, when asked about older misconduct claims, he said no crimes had been committed.

Windy Boy has also faced prior scrutiny. In 2018, he was investigated for sending sexually inappropriate text messages to two individuals. The controversy led lawmakers to establish a new process for reporting and investigating sexual harassment at the Legislature.

The growing scandal has created turmoil for Montana Democrats. Montana Democratic Party Chair Shannon O’Brien said Windy Boy should resign his Senate seat immediately if the allegations are substantiated. Senate Minority Leader Pat Flowers has also called for his resignation, though lawmakers cannot remove him outside of a legislative session.

Attorney Brian Miller, who had challenged Windy Boy in the Democratic primary, said multiple additional women have contacted him in recent weeks with similar claims.
