Montana Highway Patrol headquarters in Boulder dedicated to Kris Hansen

The Montana Highway Patrol headquarters campus has been dedicated in honor of the late-Kris Hansen, a former lieutenant attorney general who was instrumental in moving the MHP headquarters from Helena to Boulder.

“I cannot think of a better way to recognize her service to Montana and its citizens,” Attorney General Austin Knudsen said of the person he described as a friend.

Hansen, 52, died July 7, 2022. Hansen was named chief deputy of the Montana Department of Justice in December 2020. Before that, she worked for the Montana state Auditor’s office and represented Havre as a Republican state lawmaker. She left office in May 2022.
