They will be collecting nonperishable food items for Helena Food Share.

People can donate food Saturday by leaving a donation of nonperishable food in a bag near the mailbox, and the letter carrier will ensure it gets to Helena Food Share to help those in need, organizers said.

Bruce Day, Helena Food Share executive director, expressed his appreciation for the letter carriers.

“Each year, their support and hard work bring much-needed food to the pantry from the Helena community,” he said.

He also thanked the Motherlode Sports Bar for holding a thank-you event for the letter carriers following the food drive.
