Gianforte tours Missoula plastics manufacturing company
Diversified Plastics began in a Missoula garage in 1976 when founder Rod Reid started selling engineered plastic wear strips to local lumber and pulp mills.
His son, Brad Reid, bought the company in 2000, and today the firm has about 80 employees, an average annual wage of $75,000 and will bring in around $24 million in revenue this year. They’re waiting on city permits to build a 24,000-square-foot expansion building on their property on Grant Creek Road just off Reserve Street.
