Gianforte camp calls for gubernatorial debates
For the second time in two days, camps for Republican candidates running for top seats have proposed debates prior to the Nov. 3 election between candidates on the ballot from all parties.
On Thursday, Jake Eaton, campaign manager for GOP gubernatorial candidate Greg Gianforte sent a letter to campaign staff for Mike Cooney, the Democratic gubernatorial candidate, asking they help schedule debates.
He said Montana News Network, Montana Broadcasters Association and Montana PBS are interested in hosting such events. Eaton said they want all gubernatorial candidates qualified for the November ballot to participate. Green Party candidate Robert Barb is also on the ballot.
