The Frenchtown Rural Fire District posted on Facebook that the department was assisting Missoula Rural Fire Department in responding to the “couple acre” fire.

At the scene around 2:30 p.m., a small cloud of white smoke rose slowly from blackened grass as firefighters mopped up the edges of the slowly moving fire. Commercial and private aircraft departed normally from the airport and vehicle traffic proceeded normally on Roller Coaster Road and Deschamps Lane, the latter of which is 3,700 feet west of the fire.
