A recount of the June 4 primary election in Butte-Silver Bow County changed some vote totals Tuesday but the bottom line in key races remained the same.

Ann Shea and Frank Joseph still finished first and second in a bid for state District Judge in Butte-Silver Bow County, meaning they still advance to the Nov. 5 general election. William Joyce and Michael McKeon did not advance.

J.P. Gallagher and Bill Foley still finished first and second in a four-way race for chief executive, so they will be on the Nov. 5 ballot. And Russell O’Leary and Justin Fortune were first and second again in a race for the District 5 seat on the Council of Commissioners, so they also advance.

County election officials spent several hours running ballots through voting machines Tuesday in a recount of the primary — 11 weeks after they were first counted on election night.
