Outline of Montana cannabis bill shows framework, allocation of revenues
An early look at the legislative plan to implement recreational cannabis use in Montana shows the program aims to address a wide range of priorities and could be a boon to the state’s general fund.
According to a summary provided to the Montana State News Bureau, the bill will mostly funnel revenue from a 20% tax on recreational cannabis to the state’s general fund after the first $6 million goes toward a drug and addiction treatment program sought by Gov. Greg Gianforte.
