Helena-area groups among those sharing $1.5M in grant funds from Otto Bremer Trust

The Montana Community Foundation, in partnership with the Otto Bremer Trust, awarded $1.5 million in grants to Montana nonprofits that help their communities.

The foundation was selected by the Otto Bremer Trust as a philanthropic intermediary partner to administer the grants ranging from $10,000 – $75,000.

“It is an honor to continue fulfilling the vision and mission set out by Otto Bremer 80 years ago to support organizations and causes throughout our region that are meeting the most critical needs of the community,” Daniel Reardon, co-CEO and trustee of the Otto Bremer Trust, said in a news release. 

Grants were awarded to organizations with missions that address relevant community and funding priorities: basic needs, community asset building, health and wellbeing, and restorative and emergency responsive.

The Montana Community Foundation received more than 400 pre-applications, totaling over $21 million. There were 70 organizations invited to apply, and 36 received funding, officials said.
