FitLot classes offered through summer to Helena-area residents

AARP Montana and East Helena are partnering to bring free FitLot circuit-based fitness classes to Helena-area residents throughout the summer.

Located in Kennedy Park, adjacent to the playground, the FitLot Park features a range of all-weather athletic stations, forming an engaging exercise circuit suitable for people of all ages.

AARP donated the FitLot park to East Helena in 2020 as part of its national initiative to commemorate its 60th anniversary. AARP donated FitLot parks nationwide, promoting healthy aging and supporting local communities.

The new fitness park funded by AARP recently opened in East Helena’s Kennedy Park.

“The outdoor fitness equipment not only encourages people to stay fit but also offers an opportunity to socialize. Additionally, the FitLot is accessible to the public free of charge,” Tim Summers, AARP Montana state director, said in a news release.

The FitLot stations in Kennedy Park provide high-quality equipment, including ellipticals, benches, dip and pull-up bars, and resistance-band stations. Detailed instructions are posted beside each station to ensure proper exercise execution.
