Court dismisses Bozeman lawyer’s complaint against former state official
Gallatin County District Court has upheld the decision by Montana’s Office of the Commissioner of Political Practices to dismiss a Bozeman lawyer’s ethics complaints against a former commissioner.
Judge Rienne McElyea ruled this week that the deputy commissioner of political practices made the correct decision in February when he dismissed Matthew Monforton’s ethics complaint against Jonathan Motl, the former commissioner.
Jaime MacNaughton, a lawyer for the commissioner’s office, and Special Attorney General Gene Jarussi, Motl’s lawyer, said they are pleased with the outcome of the case.
