Senator Steve Daines meets with Montana AARP members in Bozeman
UPDATED- U.S Senator Steve Daines meet with Montana AARP members today in Bozeman about a new bill he is helping to put forth regarding the reduction of prescription drug pricing
The average senior takes four prescription drugs and the average medicare user makes $26,000 a year.
The price of prescription drugs went up 8% in 2017.
If passed the bill could reduce out-of-pocket costs.
“It will save $100 billion for taxpayers as well as save $20 billion for the consumers in terms of reducing out-of-pocket prescription drug costs, that’s a win for Montana,” Daines said.
The Montana AARP says 39% of Montana residents have stopped taking prescribed medication due to cost.
