Longtime trapper reacts to proposed changes to Missoula trapping ban

MISSOULA, Mont. — A longtime Montana trapper is reacting to proposed changes to the trapping ban in Missoula.

“Montana is very highly regulated when it comes to trapping,” said trapper Jim Buell.

Some say existing regulations in Missoula aren’t enough.

A 17-month-old dog named Betsy is just one example. She died in 2019 when caught in an illegal trap.
