Gov. Rhoden to Deliver 2026 State of the State Address on Jan. 13
South Dakota Gov. Larry Rhoden will deliver his 2026 State of the State Address to a joint session of the South Dakota Legislature on Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2026.
The address will be held in the South Dakota House of Representatives chamber and is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m. Central Time, or 12:00 p.m. Mountain Time.
The annual speech will outline the governor’s priorities for the coming year and set the tone for the remainder of the 2026 legislative session. Members of the House and Senate are expected to be joined by state officials, members of the judiciary, and invited guests for the joint session.
The State of the State Address is a traditional feature of the legislative calendar, offering the governor an opportunity to highlight policy goals, budget priorities, and key challenges facing South Dakota.
