Gianforte says he’s considering new run for Montana governor
Republican U.S. Rep. Greg Gianforte says he’s considering another run for Montana governor in 2020.
The second-term congressman lost to the incumbent, Democratic Gov. Steve Bullock, in 2016. Bullock’s leaving office due to term limits, and Gianforte would be joining a growing field of Republicans seeking to re-claim the seat for the GOP.
Gianforte spokesman Travis Hall said Tuesday that the congressman “is seriously considering a run for governor” after receiving strong encouragement from the Montanans he meets throughout the state.
