Gianforte Highlights Firearms Manufacturing Growth During Kalispell Visits

Montana Gov. Greg Gianforte toured two Flathead Valley firearms manufacturers this week, promoting the state’s growing role as a hub for firearms and ammunition production and emphasizing support for Second Amendment-related businesses.

During stops in Kalispell, Gianforte visited Invader Concepts and FALKOR Defense, two Montana-based companies producing firearm accessories and precision weapons systems, respectively.

“Across Montana, manufacturers are creating opportunities, strengthening our economy, and building world-class products right here at home,” Gianforte said. “The Flathead Valley has become a hub for the firearms and ammunition manufacturing industry.”

The governor began at Invader Concepts, a company founded in 2014 by Tim Anderson that designs and manufactures custom holsters, firearm accessories, and outdoor sporting products. The business employs about 30 workers and recently expanded into a new 9,000-square-foot facility.

Gianforte toured the operation, observing the manufacturing process, including molding, cutting, assembly, and finishing. Company officials said all products are made in the United States and designed for durability and practical use.

“Montana is a great place to grow a manufacturing business, and we’re proud to build our products here and provide good jobs for our community,” said Tim Anderson, the company’s owner.

The governor later visited FALKOR Defense, a firearms manufacturer founded in 2013 by Jason and Melinda Sonju. The company focuses on designing and producing precision firearms and components in Montana, with an emphasis on advanced manufacturing techniques.

“We’re proud to design and build our products right here in Montana, where precision and quality are part of who we are,” said Jason Sonju.

State officials say Montana is home to more than 150 firearms and ammunition businesses, the highest number per capita in the nation, with the Flathead Valley emerging as a key center for the industry.

Gianforte also pointed to recent legislative efforts aimed at supporting the industry. In 2023, he signed House Bill 356, sponsored by Rep. Brandon Ler, to establish nondiscrimination protections for firearms businesses. In 2025, he approved House Bill 809, sponsored by Rep. Braxton Mitchell, which restricts local governments from enacting certain firearm regulations.

“From small businesses to advanced manufacturers, companies across Montana are stepping up, creating jobs, and delivering products that compete on a national and global scale,” Gianforte said. “We’re proud to support them.”
