Windy conditions could push Alder Creek Fire close to Bryant Creek structures

Some ranchers in the Wise River area have been forced to pull their cattle off Forest Service grazing lease land early, due to the erratic fire behavior beginning in July. This herd travels west on Highway 43 to safer pastures Tuesday.

A helicopter staging Monday near the Mill Creek Highway and Highway 43 flies missions to assess the status of the Alder Creek Fire, which grew a few thousand acres during the Labor Day weekend due to dry, warm and windy conditions.
