White House says Schiff, Swalwell bring ‘expertise’ to Intel Committee after getting boot from McCarthy

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said Wednesday that Democrats Adam Schiff and Eric Swalwell should remain on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence after getting the boot from Republican House Speaker Kevin McCarthy.

“Representative Schiff, Representative Swalwell and also Representative [Ilhan] Omar are, you know, are expertise and bring a lot to the table when it comes to foreign policy and national security,” Jean-Pierre said.

“I will say that, you know, when it comes to that committee, it should not be politicized, it should be independent,” she continued. “And, again, those congressional members bring a lot of expertise to that committee. And I’ll leave it there.”
