Washington 'is screwed up,' New Hampshire governor laments

New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu says Washington “is screwed up,” blaming the divisiveness on Republicans and Democrats alike.

Asked Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union” about Republicans who want to punish fellow GOP lawmakers for voting for the infrastructure bill but decried censuring Rep. Paul Gosar (R-Ariz.) for his violent video against Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), the Republican governor who just passed on seeking a Senate seat next year lamented the discord in Washington.

“I think politics in its entirety, on both sides of the aisle, in Washington is screwed up,” Sununu said. “They have got their priorities all wrong. They focus on the wrong things. They don’t talk about balancing budgets. They don’t talk about fixing health care, immigration reform.”

Although he supports the House censure, Sununu said stripping Gosar of his committee assignments will do little to improve the quality of life for voters.
