Video: Mike Nugent delivers emotional speech on his decision to vote for Jordan Hess

Missoula City Councilmember Mike Nugent explains why he decided to vote for fellow councilmember Jordan Hess for mayor instead of himself, ending a deadlocked vote to replace late Mayor John Engen.

“I can’t be John Engen and I think it would be a disservice to our community if I tried,” Hess said at the swearing-in ceremony.

“He woke up every morning with the intent of making someone’s life just a little bit better. And in that he succeeded doing every day and he wanted us to do the same.”
