Two killed in head-on crash near Lolo

Two people were killed in a head-on crash on U.S. Highway 93 Tuesday night near Lolo.
According to Montana Highway Patrol, the accident occurred near mile marker 80 around 10:45 p.m. when a Toyota 4Runner driven by a 40-year-old Florence woman, traveling southbound, drifted into oncoming traffic and struck a Dodge Caliber, traveling north, driven by a 17-year-old Missoula girl.
Both vehicle occupants were pronounced dead on the scene. Names of the deceased have not been released at this time.
Law enforcement noted that road conditions were wet at the time of the crash. Speed as well as drugs and alcohol are suspected to be factors in the crash.
U.S. Highway 93 between Florence and Lolo was closed due to the crash and traffic was diverted to the Old U.S. Highway 93 while law enforcement and emergency response teams were on the scene.
