Toby Wilson with the Montana Job Service Office in Missoula was on the KGVO Talk Back show on Tuesday to promote a virtual job fair that will occur on Wednesday.
Wilson said that ZOOM meetings have been working well with employers and job seekers.
“For the last several months, we’ve been doing the luncheon activities where we have employers join in on a ZOOM meeting,” said Wilson. “We have opened that to the public so that they can also click on that link and join in. Basically, we were doing a job fair the new way, virtually, instead of instead of face to face.”
Wilson said a ZOOM presentation gives employers more opportunities to promote their companies and programs to highly sought-after employees.
“We’ve talked to employers that have training opportunities and various unique benefits programs, and they have positions that have potential for growth,” he said. “They really put together some great presentations to try and encourage people to take a look at them and make a decision. Am I ready to try something new? Am I ready to get back into the workforce? Whatever the case may be, there are employers that want people and we want to facilitate that connection.”
