Helena man dies after being crushed by truck in garage

A 37-year-old Helena man died when the vehicle he was working on fell onto his chest and killed him, officials said Wednesday.
Emergency personnel were called about 4 p.m. Tuesday to the 3900 block of West U.S. Highway 12, officials said.
Ryan Pearson was working on his pickup truck in his garage at home. He had jacked up the truck and removed the wheel without jackstands under the vehicle. The truck then fell onto his chest, Lewis and Clark County Sheriff/Coroner Leo C. Dutton said.
He died from traumatic crush injury of chest and the death was determined to be an accident, Dutton said.
