Governor announces board appointments

Montana Governor Greg Gianforte recently announced several appointments to various boards and commissions.

The 51 appointees named on Nov. 3 include a number of residents living in Missoula and the surrounding areas.

Daniel Griffin of Hamilton and Kate Hahn of Missoula were appointed to serve on the Board of Veteran Affairs.

Griffin is a veteran and Ravalli County veteran service officer. He will serve as the board representative for Congressman Matt Rosendale. His term will run through Aug. 1, 2025.

Hahn is a former veteran service officer, and will serve the board as a representative for Senator Jon Tester. Her term will also run through Aug. 1, 2025.

Eldena Bear Don’t Walk of St. Ignatius and Sharen Kickingwoman of Missoula were appointed to the Criminal Justice Oversight Council.

Bear Don’t Walk is an attorney and member of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes. She has 20 years of experience in the Montana and tribal criminal justice systems, including service as a tribal judge. Her term will run through July 1, 2025.
