Journalist Hannah Shirley reports that two downtown Grand Forks bars have agreed to make their buildings accessible for people with disabilities after complaints were filed with the U.S. Attorney’s Office under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Joe Black’s Bar and Grill and The Hub Pub, both operated by Dennis Blackmun and Joe Schneider, will provide accessible dining tables and blackjack gaming spaces.
Reporter Pamela Knudson will write about Lake Agassiz, which has the highest enrollment of students in distance learning among Grand Forks elementary schools. At Monday’s (Sept. 14) Grand Forks School Board meeting, Associate Superintendent Jody Thompson highlighted the elementary schools with the highest and lowest numbers of students learning remotely.
Knudson also will report on the local recipients of grants awarded by the North Dakota Council on the Arts. Nearly $831,000 was given to individuals and organizations throughout the state.
