A high school senior-to-be, Dixon verbally committed to the Fighting Hawks on Saturday, July 17, joining a growing number of Spuds on the UND roster. He announced his decision Saturday night via Twitter.
“I just felt like I was really wanted there after my visit this weekend,” Dixon said. “It felt like home. I got to hang out with the players. I just had a blast there.”
Dixon joins teammate Jack Teiken, a defensive lineman, in UND’s 2022 recruiting class. Teiken committed to the Fighting Hawks in June. Former Spuds quarterback Trey Feeney and wide receivers Blake and Brady Walthall are joining the UND program for next fall. Former Spuds running back Otis Weah and kicker Brady Leach are already on the UND roster. Weah is Dixon’s older brother.
Dixon said that proliferation of Spuds didn’t play a huge role in his decision.
“In the end it’s kind of cool I get to play with some of my (high school) teammates and my brother,” Dixon said.
