Biden: Bill Clinton is doing 'fine' and will leave hospital 'shortly'

President Joe Biden said Friday that Bill Clinton is “doing fine” and will be released from the hospital “shortly” after being admitted earlier in the week with an infection.

“Oh, I wanted to see how he was doing. And — because I’ve been trying to get a hold of him. He’s doing fine; he really is. And he’s going to be released from the hospital,” Biden said before boarding Air Force One in Windsor Locks, Conn., en route to the White House.

“He’s not in any serious condition. He is getting out shortly, as I understand it. Whether that’s tomorrow or the next day, I don’t know,” Biden added.

The president also said it’s been a while since he’s last seen Clinton, and that he plans to get together and “have some lunch” with him at some point in the future.
