AOC Bashes Scaramucci With Desmond Tutu Quote

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., on Monday quoted retired South African Nobel laureate Desmond Tutu to slam former White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci’s latest attack on President Donald Trump.

“If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor,” was the Tutu quote Ocasio-Cortez tweeted.

Tutu, now 87, retired as Archbishop of the Anglican Church of Southern Africa in 1996. He won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1984.

Ocasio-Cortez’s post included Scarmucci’s comments from a CNN interview earlier Monday bashing Trump.

“I’m now neutral on the president,” Scaramucci said, telling John Berman he no longer supported Trump’s re-election next year. “The guy’s dissembling a little bit and sounding more and more nonsensical.”

Scaramucci, 55, who spent 11 days as a White House staffer in July 2017 before he was fired by then-chief of staff John Kelly, has been ripping President Trump since late last week over his response to shootings in Dayton, Ohio and El Paso, Texas that killed 31 people and injured many others.
